The event, a 5K run/walk and a one-mile fun run (click here for an entry form), will be supervised and timed by the Mississippi Track Club. It will begin on Congress Street in front of The Clarion-Ledger and will wind through downtown streets and back to The Clarion-Ledger. T-shirts and Melanoma prevention tips will be provided to race entrants.

A free melanoma skin cancer screening will be conducted before and after the race by area doctors, and door prizes will be given away, including an Apple iPod.

All profits from this event will be used to fund Melanoma awareness efforts and to help medical researchers search for a cure.
